This salon is an example of how not to run a business--at least in terms of customer service. While their stylists are competent, their culture is loud, snooty (a la Beverly Hills, CA--except it's Miller Place, NY), and generally uncomfortable. Fortunately, I have a simple haircut so I never had to be there for very long. I have had to wait 10 minutes (or more) for my stylist when I had an appointment or have had my appointment cancelled because my stylist had to leave early--no option given to have someone else cut my hair. Yet, when I was a few minutes late today because of an unexpected traffic tieup, my stylist had already left and no one could spare the ten minutes literally it takes to cut my hair. The front desk lady made absolutely no effort to try to find me another appointment with anyone--said everyone was booked for Prom Week! So, you are going to kiss off a loyal customer who comes in every 3 weeks all year for the past year because it's June and your "busy" season? The $50 haircut is cheap by Manhattan standards, but today proved to me Hollywood Salon is not worth it.
