Oldest Home Standing in Rocky Point Up For Sale

Historic Hallock House in Rocky Point now up for sale.

The historic Hallock House, built in 1721, is currently up for sale and is listed at $299,000 on AOL Real Estate.

The home, listed by Manzoni Real Estate, sits on just under an acre of property at 172 Hallock Landing Road. It has been on the market for just 18 days and features eight bedrooms, three bathrooms, a wood stove, rear flag stone patio, belgium block-lined driveway and more.

According to the Rocky Point Historical Society, Peter Hallock, his great-grandson, Noah Hallock and his wife Bethia were one of the first (if not the first) European settlers of Rocky Point.

Noah Hallock built this home, which is on the plot of land currently bounded by Hallock Landing Road, Culross Drive and Hallock Lane and it is the oldest house still standing in Rocky Point. The Hallocks were prominent Rocky Point residents up through the mid 1900s.

Spoken like a true teacher. Did you know that the average school teacher is only paying 15% of theRead More actual cost of health care premiums for themselves and their families, when Medical healthcare insurance premiums are rising at an alarming 17% per annum? Do you realize that teachers are paid an additional stipend if they work more than 3 consecutive periods in a day? Are you aware that teacher pensions were protected during the stock market crash of 2008, when the average person's 401K was totally at risk? Perhaps if teachers realized how good they have it - look at the BIG picture and outside of their bubble - then they would complain less. Oh and yes, we need our loftily-paid Administrators to kick in some of the salaries, to help pay for stuff. Hard to believe the school districts' mantras that "it's all for the kids".
