Cyrus vs. Syria

It seems all the rage the last few days is Miley Cyrus, and her performance at the VMA.  Meanwhile in a far off land called Syria 1,300 people (women, men, and children) are killed in a chemical weapon attack.

John Kerry states the evidence that the Syrian government did it is “common sense”.  Yes, that is his only evidence, “common sense”, while circumstantial and greater evidence points to the rebels using the gas which they received from the Saudis.  Meanwhile our government is supporting the Syria rebels who are comprised of a few factions, and among them is Al Qaeda  and the Muslim Brotherhood.  Obama pumped a $195 Million Aid Package for Al Qaeda-Led Syrian Rebels (aid means weapons for the most part and some of them were shoulder fired rockets by the way).

Miley Cyrus and her performance will result in the deaths of no one, but the U.S  involvement  in a civil war,  which really should be none of our business will result in many deaths, and will even draw Russia into action as a direct combatant against U.S. forces, and where that could lead to is extremely dangerous to our civilian population.

We have lost our way as a country.  How much longer we can survive as a civilized upstanding group of people and a beacon of hope to the world is in question. But in the meantime, think about this, what do these other countries see us as?  I will tell you what they see.  They see a country that is enjoying watching a young girl run around a stage simulating sex acts with a large foam finger and grinding her buttock against a man’s groan, while we prepare to launch cruise missiles at their government leaders,  infrastructure (water, electric, roads, etc.) and kill innocent civilians (women and children among them) in the process.

After the weapons of mass destruction boloney story that got us involved in Iraq and killed 6,668 U.S. service members to date, have we as Americans learned nothing?  What is our interest in Syria?  Is Syria attacking us?  Is our survival at stake? What exactly is going on behind the scene that has the American government chomping at the bit to attack the Syrian government? 

If you have a few minutes in between watching Miley Cyrus on the stage with her foam finger over and over again, try paying attention to what is going on in Syria and perhaps make sure more fine Americans and others don’t die in combat over something most of us don’t have a  clue about.  Or better yet, completely shun her  VMA display so the media sees it doesn’t sell.

Many of you reading this see the bigger picture and understand what I’m saying, but it seems the Miley Cyrus distracted types are guilty of complacence in the deaths of thousands.  We are letting our elected leaders take action that is not in our interest over and over again and resulting in the deaths of thousands (millions really) 

Throughout history the greatest killer of man in pure numbers has been government.  WE THE PEOPLE need to start watching these leaders better and hold them accountable.  We get to elect them don’t we?  We can just as easy elect them out. We need to get people into office that will see foreign entanglements as something to be avoided at nearly all cost.  WE as a PEOPLE need to start shunning things like the behavior of Miley Cyrus, or at the very least take 20% of that attraction and apply it to more important thing.  And nothing is more important the deciding when it is a time to take human life and send our children and loved ones to war and ask them to do just that.
