Yesterday Patch reported that the New York Islanders were moving out of Nassau County and relocating to Brooklyn to play hockey in 2014-15. Owner Charles Wang attempted to have a new arena built on their home turf since the franchise began in 1972, but a bond referendum to make it happen was shot down in August 2011 by Nassau County voters.
After the defeat, Wang said he would consider moving the team, and now that seems to have taken place. Our question for Sachem residents today is: Now that the Islanders are moving out of Nassau County, will this affect how many games you plan to attend?
