Want to Thank Someone Special? Post a 'Thank You' on Patch

This Thanksgiving, share your gratitude with the Patch community.

Maybe it's a local teacher or coach who helped your child achieve a goal. Maybe it's a local business owner who helps you get what you need all year long. Maybe it's a volunteer firefighter who came to the rescue, or the electrician who helped you regain power following Hurricane Sandy.

Whomever it may be, why not express your gratitude in a special way? You can post a "Thank You" announcement on Patch. With Thanksgiving approaching, it's a great way to show someone you care.

Here's how to post an announcement on Patch:

1. Log on, or create a new user account by clicking here.
2. Visit our Announcements page by clicking here.
3. Click "Add an Announcement" on the right side of the page. Follow the steps and be sure to select "Thank You" as the category.
4. Click "Post My Announcement" at the bottom of the page, and it's live.

On Thanksgiving, we'll collect everyone's "Thank You" notes into one big article for the whole community to see.

If you have any questions, email editor Rich Arleo at: rick.arleo@patch.com. From Miller Place-Rocky Point Patch to you, "thank you" for posting your "thank you" announcement.

Spoken like a true teacher. Did you know that the average school teacher is only paying 15% of theRead More actual cost of health care premiums for themselves and their families, when Medical healthcare insurance premiums are rising at an alarming 17% per annum? Do you realize that teachers are paid an additional stipend if they work more than 3 consecutive periods in a day? Are you aware that teacher pensions were protected during the stock market crash of 2008, when the average person's 401K was totally at risk? Perhaps if teachers realized how good they have it - look at the BIG picture and outside of their bubble - then they would complain less. Oh and yes, we need our loftily-paid Administrators to kick in some of the salaries, to help pay for stuff. Hard to believe the school districts' mantras that "it's all for the kids".
