A basement fire at 25 Sixth St. in Sound Beach Sunday afternoon was quickly put out by the .The cause of the fire is under investigation.
"It was a small fire, there were no injuries and it's under investigation by the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal's office," said chief in charge of the call, Mike Bennett. "That's really pretty much it, cut and dry."
Miller Place, Rocky Point and Mt. Sinai fire departments were activated for the alarm.
