Burglar Found Hiding Inside Stony Brook Home

Homeowners find home in disarray, burglar found by police hiding in stairwell.

Residents of a Stony Brook home arrived home early this morning to find their home in disarray and a burglar hiding inside.

According to police, residents of a home on Hillside Rd. arrived home at about 2 a.m. and found their door open and items in disarray. They then called 911 and waited for police. Officer Linda Lollo went to the home and found a man, Christopher Touch, hiding in an interior stairwell. According to police he had property from the home in his possession.

Police charged Touch, 54 of 102 Dyke Rd. Setauket with second-degree burglary. Touch is being held overnight and will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
