Crime Report: DWAI, Burglary and Illegal Medication Possession Charges

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Miller Place, Rocky Point and Sound Beach.

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Miller Place, Sound Beach, and Rocky Point during Feb. 14-20:

David Anenberg, 42, of Sound Beach was arrested Feb. 20 in Miller Place and charged with DWAI. Reports state Anenberg was traveling southbound on Miller Place Road and Route 25A in his 2008 Kia when he was stopped by police.

Bernard Kearney, 40, of Miller Place was arrested Feb. 18 in Selden and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Reports state Kearney allegedly left the scene of a motor vehicle accident without exchanging information and was stopped by police while traveling eastbound on North Country Road and Crystal Brook Hollow Road in Port Jefferson.

William Erdogan, 20, of Rocky Point was arrested Feb. 18 in Rocky Point and charged with second degree burglary. Reports state Erdogan allegedly struck a victim in the face while burglarizing 81 Locust Dr., Rocky Point. Reports also state the victim required medical attention. 

Sean Smith, 21, of Sound Beach was arrested Feb. 17 in Coram and charged with fifth and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Smith was arrested on Holly Hill Lane and Hillsdale Lane in Coram after allegedly possessed cocaine.

Alicia Febo, 20, of Rocky Point was arrested Feb. 17 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with fifth degree burglary. Reports state Febo allegedly stole unknown property. 

Richard Gillespie, 45, of Sound Beach was arrested Feb. 16 in Sound Beach and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Gillespie was arrested on Echo Ave. after the alleged possession of illegal prescription pills. 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must email the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
