Crime Report: Possession of Controlled Substance and Bah Humbug

A rundown of the latest arrests and incidents in the Miller Place-Rocky Point area.

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in the Miller Place, Rocky Point and Sound Beach areas Dec. 12—18:

Carl Klass, 39, of Sound Beach was arrested Dec. 16 in Coram and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Joseph Martinez, 18, of Miller Place was arrested Dec. 12 in Miller Place and charged with nine charges of criminal mischief with intent to damage property. Reports state Martinez smashed Christmas ornaments and several mailboxes near Radio Avenue.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above.
They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
