Crime Report: Rocky Point Woman Cashes Forged Checks

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vincent Rienze, 22, of Mifflintown, was arrested Dec. 14 in Miller Place and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and first-degree criminal contempt, a felony. Rienze allegedly violated an order of protection and was in possession of prescription drugs when arrested.

Sara Oatis, 20, of Rocky Point, was arrested Dec. 15 in Rocky Point and charged with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree forgery, both felonies. Police said Oatis made a check payable to herself in amount of $100 and cashed it and also forged and cashed a total of $3,775 in personal checks.

William Abner, 41, of Sound Beach, was arrested Dec. 10 in Rocky Point and charged with third degree burglary, a felony, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Abner was allegedly driving a 2000 Honda westbound on Rocky Point-Landing Road with a suspended license. Police said he was charged with burglary for allegedly breaking in to a building on Palm Road in Ridge and removing copper pipe on Sept. 8.
