Crime Report: Miller Place Woman Charged with Theft at Smithaven Mall

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Carlos Cabrera, 27, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on March 8 in Mt. Sinai and charged with first-degree operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. Cabrera was arrested on Route 25A in Mount Sinai.

Megan Rathje, 21, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrsted on March 8 in Mt. Sinai and charged with first-offense DWI. Rathje was arrested after an officer noticed she had a broken brake light while driving westbound on Route 25a in Mt. Sinai.

Russell Schaefer, 29, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested March 8 in Rocky Point and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Schaefer was arrested on Eos Road in Rocky Point for alleged unlawful possession of prescription medications.

Mitchell Taylor, 18, of Rocky Point, was arrested March 5 on multiple charges. Taylor allegedly repeatedly called a male victim over the phone and screamed obscenities at him. According to police, he then told officers he was a different person in order to avoid being arrested on a warrant. Taylor was charged with second-degree aggravated harrassment, second-degree criminal personation and resisting arrest.

Scott Loeser, 18, of Rocky Point, was arrested March 3 in Selden and charged with petty larceny. Loeser allegedly stole steel car and marine batteries and copper wire from PK Metals.

Lauren Lavender, 21, of Miller Place, was arrested March 3 in Lake Grove and charged with petty larceny. Lavender allegedly stole a bottle of perfume from the Sears in the Smithaven Mall.
