Crime Report: Wanted Fugitive, Unlawful Possession and Stolen Silverware

A rundown of the latest arrests and incidents in the Miller Place-Rocky Point area.

Suffolk County Police Department's Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Miller Place, Sound Beach and Rocky Point during Dec. 22—30: 

Miller Place

Thomas Schuchman, Jr., 23, of Miller Place was arrested Dec. 22 in Miller Place and charged with grand larceny.  Reports state Schuchman was arrested at 7 Parlor Court, Miller Place after he stole a set of Reed and Barton silverware.

Allan Handle of Miller Place was arrested Dec. 28 in Yaphank for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of 0.8 percent with a prior offense.

Sound Beach

Gary Gillard, 28, of Sound Beach was arrested Dec. 25 in Mount Sinai and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the second degree with more than three suspensions, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree for a loaded firearm.  Reports state Gillard was driving northbound on County Road 83 and was pulled over by police.   

Brian Stevens, 34, of Sound Beach was arrested Dec. 23 in Coram as a fugitive without a warrant.

Rocky Point

Jeffery Alenski of Rocky Point was arrested Dec. 28 in Rocky Point for reckless endangerment in the first degree.

Christian Jacobs of Rocky Point was arrested Dec. 27 in Rocky Point for assault in the second degree with intent to cause physical injury and criminal mischief in the second degree for property valued at greater than $250.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
