Crimes Nearby: Wheel Comes Off Car, Followed by DWI Charge

Police reported the following arrests between Dec. 22 and Jan. 3

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Port Jefferson

Christopher Molina, 40, of Port Jefferson, was arrested Dec. 22 and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. The charge came from a Dec. 14 incident near when he allegedly grabbed a female victim by the throat.

Heather Clark, 27, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Dec. 24 and charged with six counts of second degree forgery. She allegedly stole checks and then fraudulently wrote them out.

Michael Gambardella, 18, of Garden City, was charged with driving while intoxicated after an early morning New Year's day car accident in Greenport.

Gambardella was driving a Honda CR-V SUV on Front Street around 8 a.m. on Jan. 1 when he hit a tree and a sign post and rolled the vehicle onto the front yard of a house located next to the Hotel, police said. Gambardella told police he had fallen asleep and was taken by members to for a check up.

After investigation, police said Gambardella, who was not injured, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested and released on his own recognizance after his arraignment that afternoon.

Enver Zorluoglu, 34, of Cedar Drive in Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving with a suspended license, no registration and no insurance on Dec. 31 at 8:34 p.m in Cutchogue.

Zorluoglu was involved in an accident at the corner of Route 25 and Depot Lane in Cutchogue, which left his vehicle with only three wheels after a driver's side tire came off the vehicle, police said. Zorluoglu then left the scene, driving a half a mile on three wheels, parking the car between two commercial buildings on Eugene's Road and then fleeing on foot, police said.

Police apprehended the defendant a short time later, locating him underneath a tractor trailer. He was reportedly found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic, where he was processed and held for arraignment.

Riverhead

A Sag Harbor resident was arrested on charges of DWI on Flanders Road on New Year's Eve. According to Southampton Police, Judy Clempner, 57, was found unresponsive behind the wheel of a 2002 gray Honda in a no standing zone. Police said she had in the car an open bottle of white wine.

Ronnie Meyers, 42 of Riverhead, was arrested on Sunday at 2:38 a.m. on DWI charges on County Road 105. Meyers, police said, was stopped for failing to maintain his lane. He was charged with driving intoxicated with a BAC of .08, DWI and refusal to submit to an alert test. He was also charged with moving from a lane unsafely and having no plate lamp.
