Crimes Nearby: Assault Charge in Port Jefferson

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests between July 20 and Aug.1.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three Village

A seventeen-year-old boy from Lake Grove was arrested July 26 in Stony Brook and charged with second degree criminal contempt. Reports indicate the youth allegedly violated an order of protection and pulled a phone jack from a wall.

Port Jefferson

Luo Lingli, 40, of Flushing was arrested July 20 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with unauthorized practice of profession. Lingli was arrested for the alleged practice of massage therapy without a license.

Calvin Johnson, 22, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested July 23 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with assault. Johnson was arrested for allegedly injuring another man with a knife in the chest and rib area. Johnson was reported to have allegedly hit two other males in the head. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Lincoln Ave.

Riverhead

Tommy Giffin, 30, of Ridge was arrested on July 29 in Flanders and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Giffin was stopped by police for a seat-belt violation and was allegedly found to have a large amount of marijuana and a smaller amount of hallucinogenic mushrooms in his possession.

Samuel Guevara, 18, of Riverhead was arrested on July 26 in Bridgehampton and charged with third-degree assault and false personation, both misdemeanors. Police said Guevara punched a man in the face and head, giving him a broken nose. He then gave police a false name because of an existing warrant from Riverhead Town Police, according to a police report.

Anthony Francis, 28, of Riverhead was arrested July 22 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said they arrested Francis on a previous warrant after responding to a harassment call. Once at police headquarters, Francis reportedly was discovered to be in possession of crack cocaine. He was processed and held for arraignment.

North Fork

Samantha Dittmeier, 22, of Mattituck was charged with possession of marijuana, criminal impersonation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Aug. 1 at 1:28 p.m. after police responded to a call of a suspicious person in a car on Moores Lane in Greenport, police said.
The officer on the scene found Dittmeier in the vehicle and during the interview, police said that she gave the officer a fictitious name. After investigation, police said they also found a small amount of marijuana in her possession and determined that the vehicle she was driving had been reported as being used without the owner's consent.

John Neuberger, 41, of New York City, was charged with driving while intoxicated on July 31 at 10:52 p.m. after an officer observed him to be in a severe state of intoxication on Front Street in Greenport, police said. The officer on the scene advised the man not to drive, but he did so moments later, was stopped and found to be intoxicated after failing roadside sobriety tests, police said.

Douglas Fisher, 58, of East Marion and three passengers were hospitalized on July 31 at 10:38 p.m. after Fisher hit a buoy in Orient Harbor while operating a boat, police said. Members of the transported the boaters to for treatment.
