Crimes Nearby: Burglar Smashes Door, Grabs Cash at Mount Sinai Bagel

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Port Jefferson

• A manager at Ogden's Designs & Plantings in Port Jefferson Station reported that someone stole tools and equipment from a truck and a utility trailer parked in a rear parking lot. The thefts occurred sometime between 7 p.m. on July 26 and 7 a.m. on July 27.

• The management at Mt. Sinai Bagel on Route 347 in Mt. Sinai reported that someone smashed the glass front door, entered the eatery and stole cash from the register at approximately midnight on July 29.

• A man reported being assaulted by an acquaintance over the alleged theft of $5 from a mutual friend. The victim required medical attention at St. Charles Hospital for injuries to his face and elbow. The incident occurred on Morris Street in Port Jefferson at approximately 6:30 p.m. on July 2.

Three Village

• Police have arrested an East Setauket man who they say was intoxicated when the car he was driving struck a pole and a fence. Mark Quintana, 18, was arrested July 31 and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, at the corner of Quail Lane and Partridge Lane in East Setauket at 4 a.m.

• Two men from Stony Brook were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, after police said they stole a bicycle and posted it for sale on Craigslist. The men, both 24, were arrested Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. at Burger King on Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook.
