Crimes Nearby: Wrong-Way Road Rage Driver Arrest

Also this week, one man was charged for growing nearly 60 marijuana plants on the East End.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County police department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Port Jefferson

A Port Jefferson Station man was found guilty on Thursday of killing a Medford woman he had met in a bar.

Evans Ganthier, 33, was found guilty of second-degree murder of Rebecca Koster, 24, which carries a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

Holbrook

A 37-year-old Holbrook man is facing reckless endangerment charges for a road rage incident that occurred in late July on Veterans Memorial Highway, according to Suffolk Police.

Thomas Brown Jr. was arrested Sunday following a month-long investigation by Fifth Precinct Crime Section Police Officer Thomas Hannafey. Patch posted an exclusive video of the incident taken by the complainant, Donato Sangemino, and sent exclusively to Sachem Patch.
Three Village

• Imani Parker, 22, of Roosevelt, was arrested Aug. 23 in South Setauket and charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony. According to a police report, Parker allegedly used fake currency at Home Depot on Pond Path at about 8 p.m.

Smithtown

• A thief may be walking around with used electronics and a new hairdo after breaking into two Jericho Turnpike stores. 

Suffolk County police said they received an alert at 3 a.m. Sunday that an alarm had gone off at Quag's Buy, Sell & Trade at 975 West Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown.

Riverhead

• A Laurel man was charged with growing marijuana after 57 plants were confiscated at a Sound Avenue address in Riverhead on Tuesday, police said.

Riverhead Town police worked with the East End Drug Task Force to execute a search warrant at a property located between Horton Lane and Sound Avenue Tuesday afternoon following an ongoing investigation, police said.
