Fire Commissioner Candidates Set for Tuesday Vote

Two candidates battle in Rocky Point while three other districts have one candidate running unopposed.

Throughout the area, residents will be able to cast their votes for their local fire district commissioners. Here are the names you will see on the ballot Tuesday:

Miller Place

Commissioner Steve Rasweiler is running unopposed for re-election.

Residents can vote from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Miller Place firehouse at 12 Miller Place Road.

Mount Sinai

James Hansen, chairman of the board of fire commissioners, is running unopposed for re-election.

Residents can vote from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mount Sinai firehouse at 746 Mount Sinai Coram Road.

Rocky Point

Gene Buchner or Ann Logan are both new candidates seeking election to the board.

Rocky Point Fire District Commissioner Carmine Aliperti is not seeking re-election.

Residents can vote from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Rocky Point firehouse at 90 King Road.

Sound Beach

Commissioner Bob Pulick is running unopposed for re-election.

Residents can vote from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Sound Beach Fire Department at 152 Sound Beach Boulevard.
