Man Punched by a Stranger Over a Cell Phone

Also in this week's incident reports, two men got into a fight on the golf course after one group was reportedly playing too slow.

The following incidents were reported to Suffolk County Police between July 11 and July 21:

• A man at MoBo Bar on Route 25A in Miller Place was reportedly punched in the face while sitting at the bar around 12:30 a.m. on July 21. According to Suffolk County Police, the man was transported by Rocky Point EMS to Mather Hospital for treatment.

• An employee at Etopia Technologies in Rocky Point reported on July 21 around 4:15 p.m. that a customer had a verbal dispute in the business, became enraged, and made threats of physical violence.

• Two mailboxes were reportedly destroyed recently: one on Miller Place Road in Miller Place, on July 11 around 11:45 p.m., and another on Harbor Road on Sound Beach on July 16, around 11:15 p.m.

• A man at a party in Sound Beach said he was punched in the face by a stranger over an argument about a cell phone. According to Suffolk County Police, the man said he didn’t know the person who punched him at the Huntington Drive party around midnight on July 21.

• Two men got into a fight on the greens at Willow Creek Golf Club in Mt. Sinai on July 20 at around 7:30 p.m. One man, whom police said was frustrated that the golfers in front of him were taking too long, allegedly punched and ripped the shirt of another man. The victim refused medical attention for a minor injury.
