Miller Place, Mt. Sinai Called for Large Coram Apartment Fire Sunday

No injuries in large apartment fire in Coram Sunday.

Multiple area fire departments, including Miller Place and Mt. Sinai, were called to the scene of a fire at a 16-unit apartment complex in Coram Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.  

According to police, around 20 people were removed from the complex at 24 El Camino Court and the Red Cross was there to help any victims. There were no injuries and the fire was determined to be non-criminal and was reportedly caused by a resident using a plumber’s torch.  

Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance Company was called to the scene and Selden, Ridge, Middle Island, Medford and Gordon Heights were called for mutual aid along with Mt. Sinai and Miller Place.
