North Country Road School Partners With Suffolk Police

Middle School and Suffolk Police introduce PoliceSmart Program

North Country Road Middle School recently partnered with the Suffolk County Police Department to introduce the “POLICESMART Program” to the student body.

Suffolk County Police Officer George Lynagh spoke with 6th grade students about bullying. The program focused on the impact bullying hason a person’s social and emotional well-being, including incidents of cyber bullying and empowering students with a blueprint for success when dealing with situations like this.

He also spoke with 8th graders on the topic of diversity. With them he discussed the importance of celebrating differences that exist among all people whether it is in reference to culture, race, religion, or sex.  He highlighted incidents of hatred in our society and inspired the children to stand up for one another.
