Police: Armed Robber Strikes Again At Lake Ronkonkoma Store

Store is gunman's 15th local robbery in a month, police said.

The armed robber who is already suspected of committing 14 other robberies throughout the Sachem area has hit Lake Ronkonkoma once again; this time at the Best Express convenience store.

According to Suffolk County Police, the masked suspect entered the 336 Ronkonkoma Ave. store Tuesday at 7:43 p.m.

The man demanded cash and fled on foot. Police are investigating this robbery as part of the pattern of robberies that have taken place throughout Lake Ronkonkoma, Nesconset, Farmingville, Medford, Patchogue among other areas since Dec. 9.

Police have previously described the suspect as a man, possibly Hispanic, between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches in height, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored scarf and mask covering his face. The suspect steals cash from the businesses, and then flees the scene on foot, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information on these incident to please anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
