Police Looking For Woman Using Counterfeit Currency

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest of a woman using fake money to make purchases.

Echo Medical and Surgical Supplies, located at 60 Echo Ave. in Miller Place was the victim of fraud this week after a woman walked into the medical supply store and purchased gauze using a counterfeit $20 bill.

Minutes later, the women was caught on video surveillance camera entering another supply store down the road, at 56 Echo Ave., and purchasing additional items including rubbing alcohol using another counterfeit bill. 

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman who used counterfeit money at the two businesses.

There is a $5,000 reward any information that leads to an arrest. Police said to look for a woman described as white and approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall. She drove a black Ford Mustang with white New York plates.
