I have 15 year old twins in Miller Place. Can't even imagine what is going on for all involved. Hope the injured recover. What a sad situation for all. What the heck?

I am very disappointed in this town. I have lived here 32 years and the kids are getting worse. Parents have to be parents and not friends. My kids would have never done this because they respected me, Time for tough love.

Condolences to all involved. I remember when at 15 and drunk, I would stay home! In fact I didn't start drinking and driving until I was the legal age of 18! What is this world coming too?

That kid should never be allowed to drive.

I think before everyone rushes to judgement we need more details. Did the kid sneak out of the house when the parents were out to dinner? A 15-yo knows what's right and wrong, and is responsible for his actions. I'm not saying bad parenting was not a factor, but to hold them responsible with no information is kind of irresponsible. I sure hope you never do jury duty...guilty until proven innocent? If the parents were aware of what he was doing and allowed it, then I agree.

To all who think the kids parent would actually let him drive that's pretty silly. Drunk kids do stupid things, everyone makes mistakes. Hope the kid is alright.

we cannot blame the 15 yr old parents for this did anyone ever think maybe the boy took the car behind his parents back? his parents must be so hurt from this also for not only the suprise of his son but also for the other persons involved. so please all of you thy shall not place the blame on the parents. just hope that this accident will help this 15 yr old as well as all 15 yr olds think before you drink. this is a unfortunate situation and hope the 15 yr old learns alesson in life. not the parents. they have learned there own lesson what there child has done without them knowing. and as a parent they must also feel for the other victims involved. so please dont throw the parents under the bus but hope that they can seek help for there 15 yr old. we hope all those who got hurt get well . dbpa

One of my best friends and her young daughter's life was spared in this incident. We are all quick to comment after the fact, but some obviously should have spoke out before now. It is God's Grace and Mercy that. Save their lives. They were victims, but will be victorious in the long road ahead called recovery and rehabilitation. Long after this "sound bite" is no longer sensational, my friend and her daughter will relive these moments in their sleep, when they wake to the scars and bruises now evident, and as they try to make sense of a moment that forever changed their lives. They are not just others who were hurt, they are loved and cherished by their family and friends.
