Vehicle Fire in Mt. Sinai Spreads to Garage

No injuries in early morning fire Sunday.

The Mt. Sinai Fire Department responded to a car fire that ignited a garage attached to a two-story home on Mill Street early Sunday morning.

According to MSFD Chief Charles Poillon, Suffolk County Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services were sent out around 12:36 a.m., and the fire was extinguished in minutes.

A small car was parked in the driveway of the home, ignited, and then caught the garage on fire. The fire was contained to the garage where heavy smoke and fire caused some damage.
