A West Hempstead man was arrested Friday for allegedly engaging in criminal sex acts with a child he met on the website CraigsList.
Suffolk County Police arrested David Boutin, 42, of West Hempstead, at 3:41 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Long Island Power Authority property, located north of Route 25A in Shoreham.
A Seventh Precinct patrol officer, who was searching the utilities access road for a stolen dirt bike, allegedly observed Boutin sitting with a child in the rear seat of a blue 2010 Toyota Corolla and arrested him. He was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act.
Boutin is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Aug. 18.
