Anker: Money Earmarked for Mount Sinai Harbor Dredging Project Intact

A Letter to the Editor from Legis. Sarah Anker.

Editor's Note: Below is a Letter to the Editor sent by Legis. Sarah Anker.

At a recent meeting with the Mount Sinai Advisory Committee, information was discussed regarding the funding for the Mount Sinai Harbor Dredging Project. I would like to reassure the community that the $2.1 million earmarked for the project remains intact.

The Town of Brookhaven has designated Mt. Sinai Harbor as a Marine Sanctuary in recognition of its diverse natural resources. The intent of the dredging project is to improve and protect the harbor while enhancing its safety, use and sustainability.

I will continue to make this project a top priority, and will work hard to ensure that the harbor remains an economical and cultural resource for our community, boaters and families.

Sincerely,
