Anker Wins Another Term as Legislator for Sixth District

Anker holds on to her seat in the legislature.

Democratic candidate Sarah Anker, Mount Sinai resident, has defeated Republican candidate Jennifer Juengst in the race for the Suffolk County Legislature's 6th district seat with more than 52 percent of the vote.

Juengst, from Shoreham, ran on the Republican and Conservative lines, but was only able to obtain about 48% of the vote.

Anker was elected through a special election to fill the seat of former county legislator and recently announced Brookhaven Superintendent of Highways, Dan Losquadro. Shortly after, she was re-elected for a full term. Anker said she plans on continuing to focus on environmental and public health issues.
