For Bonner, it's back to work tomorrow as she laid out some items on the agenda for the next two years after her re-election.

"We're going to finish up Phase 2 of the Corridor Study and work on the zoning changes," she said. "[There are] other quality of life initiatives. I'd like to contiunue to work with small businesses to cut through the red tap and continue to concentrate on revitalizing downtown Rocky Point and other areas of my district that need attention."

Bonner mentioned Rocky Point, Coram and Sound Beach as the areas from which her office receives the "bulk of the phone calls."

"All areas in my office are treated equally," she said, "but there are ongoing issues in those communities that I'd really like to tie up."

In September, Bonner defeated challenger Ray Negron (R, Mt. Sinai) in the Republican Primaries with over 68 percent of the vote. She has served the Town of Brookhaven since elected in 2007.

Berkoski, who is employed at the Suffolk County Economic Development and Workforce Housing Department, was running for the first time.
