Brookhaven Town Guidelines for Disposing Your Christmas Tree
With the holiday season ended, it's time for cleanup.
You've eaten all the cookies, opened the gifts and tossed out the wrapping, all that's left is the tree.
The Town of Brookhaven Department of Waste Management has simple guidelines for disposing of your Christmas tree at the curb.
- Trees can be collected separate from garbage as brush on Sunday nights preceding leaf weeks.
- Do not bag
- If your tree is over six feet tall, it must either be cut in half or brough to the Town landfill.
- All stands, lights, ornaments, etc. must be removed.
- Artificial trees are not accepted.
