Free Firewood For Brookhaven Residents

Brookhaven Land Fill will hand out free firewood on Feb. 2 and Feb. 9.

Brookhaven residents can pick up a free load of firewood to heat their homes at the Yaphank Landfill this Saturday.

Supervisor Edward Romaine said free the Brookhaven Town Landfill will be offering free firewood to residents this Saturday and Feb. 9, from 8 a.m. to noon.

“Sandy left us with mountains of debris, including trees that needed to be cut down to size,” said Romaine in a written statement, “and with so much to dispose of, it made good sense to offer our residents free firewood to use in their homes.”

The free firewood can be picked up at the Brush Drop Off area of the Landfill. No commercial vehicles will be permitted.

The Brookhaven Land Fill is located at 350 Horseblock Road in Yaphank. For more information, call 631-451-TOWN (8696).
