Mt. Sinai Choir Singer to Perform During Inauguration Festivities

Students from the Stony Brook School Chamber Choir will perform in Washington D.C.

Nicole Gray, a student from Mt. Sinai, will be among the 16 members of the Stony Brook School’s Chamber Choir to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony.

The Chamber Choir was invited to perform at the inauguration after members performed in New York City for a Worldstrides Heritage festival last March. According to a statement released by the school, the choir will be joining 40 other ensembles from all over the United States invited to attend.

The Chamber Singers will sing a South African song called Bonse Aba and will play traditional musical instruments from South Africa during their performance, which will take place at approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a report on News12.

While the swearing-in ceremony occurs on Martin Luther King’s birthday on Monday, the festivities in Washington D.C. take place over a four-day period.
