Councilwoman Jane Bonner has announced that three upcoming events to be held at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center located at 739 Route 25A in Mount Sinai.
The first event is the annual E-Waste Drive on March 23 from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., when old electronics can be safely collected and then recycled. Residents are urged to bring old cell phones, televisions, VCRs and DVDs and more electronics to be recycled.
On April 4, Bonner will host a Tax Grievance Seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. The Town’s Tax Assessor James Ryan will help residents understand the process and learn how they can grieve their property tax assessment.
Lastly, Shed the Meds, an event co-sponsored by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, will be held on April 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. People are encouraged to drop off unused medications, which will then be disposed of in an environmentally safe way by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office to help stop the contamination of drinking water and more.
