Nursing Home on Davis Peach Farm Property Inches Closer to Development

Continued care organization close to securing title for property.

The plan for a nursing home in Mt. Sinai on the undeveloped former Davis Peach Farm property recently inched closer, according to a report in the Village Beacon Record.

The Mount Sinai Civic Association hopes the possible development of the Amsterdam Continuing Care facility would help bring revenue to the hamlet.

According to the report James Davis, president and CEO of Amsterdam, had privately informed the civic and local government that he was interested in purchasing the property last March, and a recent letter from the organization indicated they are close to obtaining a title on the property.

How about the added traffic to 25a that is already @ capacity! The traffic in Mt. Sinai in Miller Place simply crazy. The roads were not built for this! They were designed for farms and small towns!!!!

Dont you know that they always consider revenue before safety? It is just politics.

This is a crazy idea. They won't let Target be built in rocky point which would cut down our need to be on 25a for commuting to the mall or riverhead but a nursing home gets a pass? And whose idea was it to build a cvs by Marshalls in miller place necessitating another stoplight.
