Skin Care Tools

What are some of your favorite tools?

I have a LOT of skin care tools! These are just ones that I use personally… not on my clients (with the exception of my fingers). Here’s my top 5 Must have tools:

1.)  Fingers. Your fingers are the best tools you have and their literally right at your fingertips! Moisturizers are best applied with your fingers because they are gentle and warm which helps penetrate the product into your skin.

2.)  Sponges. I use them to gently cleanse and exfoliate my skin. Their gentle enough to use everyday. I like Face Secrets Professional Exfoliating Cleansing Sponges from Sallybeauty.com

3.)  Cotton Pads. These are great for applying toner and removing eye makeup. These circular cotton pads are also good for removing nail polish. And they are cheap too! You can find them at your local drugstore or at Sephora for as little as $4 for a bag of 70!

4.)  Sephora Complexion Extractor with Lancet. This little beauty is great for whiteheads and getting out blackheads. *Don’t extract anything that isn’t ready and if you’re unsure, check with a dermatologist before using this tool. Improper use could lead to scarring.

5.)  Clarisonic Mia Skin Cleansing System. This is the ultimate skin care tool. While it may be more on the pricier side, I can definitely tell you that it is worth every penny! The soft brush moves back and forth at more than 300 times per second giving your skin a deep pore cleansing. The cleaner your skin is, the more your skin care products will absorb. Extra bonus: It removes makeup so much better than any other method I’ve tried and helps reduce pore size! Need I say more?

Happy Skin Care!
