One of the many perks of being a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician is that you can go to annual beauty shows and conferences. The International Beauty Show (IBS) is held once a year in different cities around the country.
This year it was held at the Jacob Javitiz Center in New York. Hair, skincare, and makeup companies set up booths where you can learn about, test, and purchase their products. It is heaven for any makeup or beauty guru! Last year, companies were giving away samples of different products and holding classes for those who were interested in furthering their education. An added bonus is that the companies charge less for products than they normally would!
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend the show this year and I am so incredibly bummed. I woke up feeling sick with a fever and had to pass on the opportunity to go. I went last year and was in complete awe of all the different companies that were there (some of which I had never even heard of).
One thing I did purchase and I still use to this day is the KollagenX 24K Gold Collagen Under Eye Treatment. These are truly amazing but I must admit a bit pricey. They claim to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, reduce dark circles, and hydrate your skin for up to 24 hours...they feel like silk on your skin! You leave them on for 30 minutes and remove and voila… beautifully hydrated skin. I don’t use these too often because like I mentioned before, they are expensive. I believe I bought them from the show last year for 4 sets for $30. Normally they go for much more than that. They also sell the 24K Gold Collagen full face mask which I haven’t tried but can only imagine how soft, hydrated and refreshed your skin must feel after it’s applied.
If you want to learn more about their products, you can visit their website at www.Kollagenx.com. Hopefully next year I’ll be in better health than I was this year! I was lucky enough to have one of my fellow estheticians and good friend purchase me a High Frequency machine this year. I’m so excited to use it and introduce it to my clients...perhaps I’ll even write a blog about it!
