2 Local School Districts to Share $100K in State Aid

Mount Sinai and Port Jefferson schools will use the money to fund science, tech, engineering and math programs.

Mount Sinai and Port Jefferson Schools have received a sizeable sum of state aid to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The Port Jefferson Record reports that Ken Bossert, superintendent for Port Jefferson Schools made the announcement at the district's Tuesday evening board meeting.

According to the report, Port Jefferson received about $45,000 of the funding and the remainder went to Mount Sinai.

The aid was secured by state Sen. Ken LaValle (R-Port Jefferson).
