Are You Pleased With Your District's Proposed 2013-'14 Budget?

With school budget votes upcoming, how will you be voting in your district?

With the 2012-'13 school year winding down and proposed budgets for the upcoming year adopted or ready to be adopted, district members can begin looking ahead to vote on May 21.

Mount Sinai and Rocky Point are set to adopt their budgets soon while Miller Place and Shoreham already have theirs set. As of now it looks as though no local districts will attempt to exceed the tax levy cap, something Mt. Sinai had issues with last year after their first cap-busting budget failed to pass with the necessary 60-percent approval.

Miller Place had its discussions about full-day kindergarten before ultimately deciding to opt against, and each district looks to have avoided cuts to programs and faculty.
