The singing competition, which would have set 20 finalists against each other to battle for the Rocky Point Idol title, will be rescheduled for Jan. 14, according to the district's website.
The school district has also canceled all evening activities, but as of 2:30 p.m., the varsity wrestling match at Shoreham-Wading River High School was still on.

Snow has been falling in the area since around noon and weather reports say the Miller Place-Rocky Point area could anywhere from 3-6 inches of accumulation.
