Icy Conditions, Freezing Temperatures Cause Havoc For Districts

Schools announce two-hour delays due to inclement weather

The most recent weather forecast from The Weather Channel is predicting extremely low temperatures that will cause residual moisture on roadways to freeze, ultimately creating black ice.

In addition, "Isolated snow showers are expected overnight along and in the wake of an Arctic Frontal Passage. A dusting of snow is possible with any snow showers, which would cause briefly reduced visibilities and locally ice conditions."

Due to the forecast the Miller Place Union Free School District and the Rocky Point School District have announced delays for Tuesday.
