It was a down to the wire finish between two top ranked teams on Saturday, but in the end it was Miller Place that came out on top defeating Kings Park 28-27.
The Panthers got off to a slow start and entered halftime trailing Kings Park by 21 points, but a second-half surge led by the defense and scoring by Cody McPartland and Brett Osman lifted them to the victory.
McPartland opened the scoring for the Panthers with a 15-yard touchdown reception. The two-way player followed that up with an interception return for a score to bring his team with a touchdown. The Panthers took a seven-point lead and after Kings Park scored late, the Kingsmen tried to win the game on a two-point conversion with less than 10 seconds remaining, but Miller Place stuffed the run to clinch the stunning win.
The game will be shown on MSG Varsity on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
