Jordan Ceccarini competed in the state finals after qualifying to represent Section XI.

Miller Place 8th grade varsity gymnast Jordan Ceccarini recently placed sixth in the all around competition at the New York State Finals held March 2 at Smithtown East High School.

Ceccarini, who qualified to represent Section XI, finished with an all around score of 36.85 and placed 6th in the all around finals.

She finished with a 9.0 to take 14th place on vault, a 9.15 to place 9th on bars, a 9.10 to take 6th place in beam and her score of 9.6 on floor routines was second highest in the state. All of her scores were used in the total to help lead Section XI to a second place finish.

She was coached this season by Peter Neu of the Farmingdale Gymnastic Academy. Ceccarini is the only gymnast for Miller Place, which doesn't have a varsity gymnastics team. During the season, she competes by herself along with the Bay Shore team.
