Four local school districts, Miller Place, Mount Sinai, Rocky POint and Shoreham-Wading River, have announced early Sunday that they will be closed on Monday.
Due to the heavy snowfall most Miller Place and Sound Beach roads are still impassable," Miller Place Superintendent Marianne Higuera wrote on the district website. "The District is extremely concerned about student transportation and safety at bus stops."
Rocky Point now has a letter from Superintendent Michael Ring on the district website as well.
"It goes without saying that the weather continues to present significant challenges to us this school year," the letter reads. "As a result of the lingering impact on local roads due to the blizzard, safe transit to our schools is not possible."
The letter, attached, also includes an update to the calendar.
