Miller Place Students Collecting Pennies for Patients

Students raising money for Leukemia/Lymphoma Society

Throughout the month of March, Miller Place students worked hard to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society by collecting over 170 pounds of pennies.

Fellow student, Jesse Pallas, has been fighting cancer and to financially help his family as he combats the disease, students worked to collect the money through the “Pennies for Patients” drive.  

Fifth grade students at the , who are part of the Positive Energy And Caring Environment (P.E.A.C.E.) group, helped make posters and gave presentations to other classes about the important cause.

Students took their fundraising outside of the classroom as well, and one student personally raised over $120 by making and selling bows and hair ribbons at her dance studio.

The school will present the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society with a grand total in April.
