PHOTO: Mt. Sinai Schools Recognized by County for Blue Ribbon Award

Legis. Sarah Anker and members of the county board recently presented the Mount Sinai School District with a proclamation to honor its 2012 National Blue Ribbon award.

The district was one of only 269 schools nationwide that received this impressive distinction. The award is reserved for schools that demonstrate high academic excellence or are working to close the achievement gap.

“Mount Sinai Middle School exemplifies the best in our public education system," Anker said. "From its hard working students and highly qualified teachers to its strong and caring school leaders and supportive parents and community members. This is a shining example of how much can be accomplished when we all work together to provide children the best education possible.”
