The fourth-grade students in Theresa O'Brien’s class at Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School have been learning about the different types of heroes in the community, and they were recently visited by a different type of hero.
New York State K-9 Police Trooper Stephen Campo recently visited the school with his canine partner Josie. During their visit, Officer Campo demonstrated with Josie how they work together while on duty and spoke about the different uses for K-9 troopers in his field. Officer Campo described how Josie has been trained to complete three different tasks: to protect, to track and to detect explosives.
