Report: First Phase of Shoreham-Wading River Field Upgrade Approved

Project, much of which comes from donations, clears first hurdle.

The first phase of a got the go ahead at this week's school board meeting, according to a report on SWRWeekly.com. Many of the materials for the proposed structure will be donated by local businesses.

Miller Place architect Al Sutton of presented the design of Phase I of the meeting and explained that most of the bathroom, press box and concession structure will be donated and additional monetary donations continue to come in.

In the proposal, started by the Wildcat Athletic Club, a structure would be built on the East side of the existing high school track field. Existing stands, which are worth close to $100,000, would be moved to the same side.

Before construction begins, an entire outline of donations will be presented. The board voted unanimously to move ahead with a resolution to approve the project.
