Three Rocky Point High School students have been selected to participate in the 2012 All-County Music Festival.
Samuel Raleigh (band, percussion), Zachary Riley (mixed chorus, tenor) and Daniel Wood (mixed chorus, tenor) were honored with this distinction for their musical achievements.
The students were selected because of the score each received at the NYSSMA Solo Festival held the previous spring, which placed them among the highest in the county.
The festival, which is organized by the New York State Council of Administrators for Music Education, will take place at Northport High School this November. In addition to being selected for the All-County competition, Raleigh and Wood were selected as All-State Music Festival alternates in the areas of concert band and mixed chorus, respectively.
