Rocky Point School Sparking Conversations About Fire Safety

Firefighters teach students the importance of fire preparation

To make sure the Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School students are knowledgeable about fire prevention and safety, the Rocky Point School District had a fire prevention program with members of the Rocky Point Fire Department.

The firefighters visited the building to discuss fire safety, the importance of a smoke detector, and the role a firefighter would play to put out a fire. All of the students that participated in the program got to see a fire truck up-close.
