Rocky Point Students Continue To Collect Donations

Second grade students collected hundreds of nonperishable food items to help families in need this holiday season.

Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School students and staff members just completed their Thanksgiving drive and were able to collect hundreds of nonperishable food items for local families. Anything you could think of from holiday treats to deserts weren't off limits at the event.

To help out, the second-grad Service Club, who were advised by counselor Jamie Admaski, helped to go through all of the hundreds of donations and sort them in an orderly fashion to be delivered just in time for the holidays.

According to the district,  this year’s donations will provide assistance to 15 families through the Cross Over Christian Church as well as fill the shelves at the Island Heart, Lighthouse Mission, Invited Inn and St. Anthony’s food pantries.
