Rocky Point Students Named Unicef Ambassadors

Joseph A. Edgar. students raise over $25K for Unicef.

4th grade students were presented with
a plaque and the designation of UNICEF Ambassadors for the school’s 14-year
commitment to trick or treat for UNICEF.

Under the direction of teacher Allison Licata, the school has raised over $25,000 through the Baby Scarecrow Program. Every October, students create baby scarecrows with collection boxes attached and line the hallways of the school with them.

Students are encouraged to place change in the collection box of the scarecrow that they like best. The money is sent to UNICEF to provide needy children throughout the world with clean water, nutritious food, health care and disaster relief.
